Borgo Mattei is the heart of Tenuta Sant'Anna: an agritourism estate consisting of nearly 20 hectares of land cultivated with olive trees and, above all, vineyards, which has always been the focal point of the agricultural vocation of the Castelli Romani territory. It mainly consists of white grape varieties that fall under the Frascati Controlled Designation of Origin: Malvasia di Candia, Trebbiano, and Greco Bianco.
These fertile lands were formed as a result of the intense volcanic activity of the ancient Latium volcano, which gave rise to the Campi di Annibale, Monte Cavo, and Colle Iano, as well as the various volcanic lakes, among which we still admire Lake Albano and Lake Nemi today.
The entire cultivated area of Tenuta Sant'Anna is visitable and offers the opportunity to traverse paths in an original setting with a unique view that, reaching the Tyrrhenian Sea, crosses the entire city of Rome.
